Although Mr. Trump's second term is still in its early stages, the pace at which changes have occurred allows to draw some preliminary analytical conclusions. This is the goal of the authors of a recently published e-book by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). In international affairs, Mr. Trump’s governing style is characterized by transactionalism, confrontational diplomacy, and the use of economic tools to garner concessions and impose costs on allies and adversaries alike. This primarily results in increased uncertainty. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely that the stated objectives of the policies implemented by the new administration will be met. These objectives include drastic reductions in the trade deficit, development of the domestic industrial base, and creation of high-paying jobs for U.S. citizens.
The presentations will be held in English and the Q&A session in English and French.
