As migration and refugee flows continue to rise - especially to emerging and developing economies -, the recently released Chapter 3 of the IMF's World Economic Outlook shows that more stringent migration and refugee policies do not just affect the countries that implement them. By reshaping the flow of people, they can also affect neighbouring economies, presenting challenges and opportunities. Better integration policies and international cooperation can ease burdens and help unlock economic gains.
